Maastricht University Holland-High Potential Scholarship is financial support for international students who intend to study at the University of Maastricht. The Maastricht University Scholarship Fund entirely funds the High Potential Scholarship, according to Maastricht University. ni, and the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science fully funds the Holland Scholarship.

International students are offered the opportunity to study at the University of Maastricht or any Dutch university and universities of applied sciences.

Eligibility Criteria

Below are the eligibility criteria for application for the Maastricht University Holland-High Potential Scholarship.

• An applicant must hold nationality in a country outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland, or Surnam and obtain an entry visa and a residency permit (for the Netherlands) when necessary.

• An applicant must have applied for admission to a participating full-time master’s program at Maastricht University (these programs would be indicated in October 2023) for the 2024/2025 year.

• An applicant must have never participated in a degree awarding program in the Netherlands (exchange students are welcome to apply).

• The applicant’s age cannot exceed 35 on September 1, 2024.

• A candidate from an EU/EEA nation cannot have dual citizenship.

• Each master’s program at the University of Maastricht has its requirements for admission.

Below are the necessary documents required for the Maastricht University Holland-High Potential Scholarship. They include;

CV/Resume

An individual’s CV is expected to be complete with relevant information and ensure it’s up to date (It’s not ideal to go longer than 2 A4 pages).

Academic Excellence Proof

Individuals can upload their university transcript or a letter signed by their head of department (HOD).

Letter of Motivation

Your letter of motivation is required to meet the documents requirement.

A Reference Letter

An individual must prepare a reference letter; it would be advisable to reference your lecturer, family member, or professor. (Recommendation must bear a February 2023 expiration date).

Financial Needs Statement for Individual

Individuals must explain why they would benefit from the scholarship and other personal issues.

Register For A Master’s Program at the University of Maastricht

The first step in applying for the scholarship program is registering for a master’s program. One can visit maastrichtuniversity.nl to get details on registering for a master’s degree program. Following submitting your application via studielink.nl, a student ID number for the University of Maastricht will be issued to you. A student number is required to fill out and submit the scholarship application form.

Please be aware that the University of Maastricht International Services does not pay handling fees if your study program requires them. To be eligible for this grant, you must have conditional admission to a master’s program.

Complete The Application Form, You Need To Login With Your University of Maastricht Account

The next thing would be to complete the application form (expected to be available in October 2023). Then upload your CV, Letter of Motivation, Personal Statement of Financial Needs, reference letter, Proof of Academic Excellence, and other necessary documents in doc, docx, or PDF format. Ensure to provide all documents required, as the application can only be submitted once.
